DETERGENT AND COATING AGENT FOR TREATING SURFACE OF AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent and a coating agent which can exhibit a coating effect having excellent water repellency and excellent gloss over a long period by a simple operation and is suitable for use in methods for washing and coating the surfaces of automobiles. SOLUTION: Automotive surfaces including coated surfaces are washed with a detergent containing a fatty acid salt as an active ingredient and then coated with a coating agent containing the nonionic surfactant emulsion of an amino-modified silicone. Thereby, the automotive surfaces can easily be washed, and the excellent coating films can be formed on the surfaces (coating surfaces and so on). The detergent and the coating agent which can be used for the method are provided.
