COMMON PACKET CHANNEL RECEIVER AND METHOD FOR RECEIVING SIGNALS THEREBY

PURPOSE: A CPCH(Common Packet CHannel) receiver and a method for receiving signals thereby are provided to use in common with a DPCH(Dedicated Physical CHannel). CONSTITUTION: A CPCH receiver consists of a CPCH scrambling code index generator(200), a DPCH scrambling code index generator(201), a mode selector(202) and a decoder(203). The CPCH scrambling code index generator(200) generates scrambling code information for the despreading of a CPCH according to a received access preamble signature. The DPCH scrambling code index generator(201) generates scrambling code information for the despreading of a DPCH according to the message information of a received RACH(Random Access CHannel). The mode selector(202) selects and outputs the scrambling code information of either the CPCH scrambling code index generator(200) or the DPCH scrambling code index generator(201) according to an operation mode. The decoder(203) decodes either the CPCH or the DPCH using the scrambling code information output from the mode selector(202).
