The jacket tube (125) has at least one upper and one lower part, of which at least one part has a polygonal cross-section. Support holder points are arranged at the spaced end faces (5,6) of the parts, to form a continuous closed ring. The end faces projecting from the upper and lower parts have two side bars connected by at least one connecting element. The lower part has a U-shaped or trapezoid cross-section. The support holder points are connected to the end faces of the jacket tube by support plates. Independent claims are included for a support element for a steering shaft, a support casing for a steering shaft and a method to assemble the support elements of a support casing. |
