PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a heterogeneous ion exchange membrane excellent in ion selectivity despite keeping its electrical resistance low, and having fouling resistance, and to provide a method for producing such a membrane. SOLUTION: This heterogeneous ion exchange membrane is composed of ion exchange resin microparticles and a binder resin containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. The method for producing such a heterogeneous ion exchange membrane comprises previously mixing the powder of a binder resin containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer at a temperature lower than the lowest melting point of the binder resin followed by making a kneading and molding under heating. |
