PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene encoding an outer membrane protein of Salmonella typhi useful for a diagnostic technology for typhoid fever, a polynucleotide molecule containing the gene and a recombinant protein obtained using the gene. SOLUTION: The invention discloses an isolated polynucleotide molecule containing a base sequence encoding ST50 which is an outer membrane protein peculiar to Salmonella typhi and having a molecular weight of 50 kDa. |
