PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active α-methyl- bis-3,5-(trifluoromethyl)benzylamine which is an important intermediate for medicines and agrochemicals. SOLUTION: An optically active α-methyl-bis-3,5-(trifluoromethyl)-benzyl alcohol is subjected to sulfonylation reaction to convert the above compound into a sulfonate derivative of the optically active α-methyl- bis-3,5-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl alcohol derivative and further subjected to substitution reaction to convert the above derivative into an optically active α-methyl- bis-3,5-(trifluoromethyl)benzylamine derivative and successively subjected to deprotecting reaction to produce the objective optically active α-methyl- bis-3,5-(trifluoromethyl)benzylamine in high asymmetric transfer ratio and good yield. |
