PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems that, though this optically active 2-carboxyndoline derivative is useful as an intermediate for a therapeutic agent of hypertension described in JPO 2-191251, or is useful as an intermediate for medicines and agrochemicals and can be optically resolved by using optically active phenethylamine as an optically resolving agent according to JPO-191251, the resolution yield is poor, and another process is described in USP-4520205 wherein optically active ephedrine is used as the resolving agent, but the optical yield is not sufficient and the ephedrine is regulated by antihypnotic low. SOLUTION: In the method of producing an optically active indoline derivative according to this invention, an indoline derivative represented by general formula (1) is allowed to react with an optically active amine represented by general formula (2) and the resultant products are optically resolved and the resolved product is treated with an acid or base. |
