PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable maintenance operation device for an elevator. SOLUTION: If a safety condition cannot be established, a switch is prevented from functioning. That is, a switch 12 instructing maintenance operation and the like for the elevator is provided in a control panel 10, a transmitting/ receiving terminal 11 transmitting/receiving a signal to/from a portable terminal 20 is arranged in the control panel 10, and the switch 12 functions on condition that predetermined data are transmitted/received via the transmitting/receiving terminal 11. The transmitting/receiving terminal 11 is a serial communication board jack or a terminal performing radio transmission/reception.
