PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator door safety device capable of controlling the number of failures in plural pairs of optical sensors constituting the door safety device. SOLUTION: An optical sensor 2 is constructed of plural pairs of light emitting parts 2A and light receiving parts 2B, and the elevator door safety device, which has a controller 3 detecting an abnormal condition of at least one of the light emitting parts 2A and the light receiving parts 2B in the optical sensor 2 and outputting invalid signals 4a for canceling an action of the light receiving part, is provided with a counter 8 counting the invalid signals 4a in a door closing time and a display device 9 indicating the counted value of the counter 8.
