PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plastic lens material hardly causing cloudiness during long-term preservation, and further to provide a method for producing the material, to obtain a composition for the plastic lens containing the material, and to provide the plastic lens obtained by curing the composition and a method for producing the plastic lens. SOLUTION: This plastic lens material is characterized in that the material comprises a compound in which a part or the whole of the 1,4- cyclohexanecarboxylate structural units is a cis-structure. The method for producing the material, the composition for the plastic lens containing the material, the plastic lens obtained by curing the composition and the method for producing the plastic lens are also provided.
