PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always detect a loading height of a punch chip at the same height in no relation to the number of apertures provided on a sheet. SOLUTION: This punch chip detection device 69 for a punching device of the present invention detects a loading height of a punch chip 67a (or 67b) generated at the time of punching action of a punching device 2 for providing a plurality of apertures on a member to be punched by a plurality of punches 47 straightly arranged and a die aperture 50a (or 50b) of a die 50 opposed to the punch 47. A loading height detection means 66 for detecting the punch chip by a transmitting light along an arrangement direction of the punch and the die aperture is provided.
