PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for providing an improved seal for a gear in a folding machine driving device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a first drive-in gear 18, a first folding roller gear 21 driven by means of the first drive-in gear, a first cover 50 for sealing the first drive-in gear and the first folding roller gear, a second drive-in gear, a second folding roller gear 122 driven by means of the second drive-in gear and adjustable to the first roller gear, and a second cover for sealing the second drive-in gear and the second folding roller gear.
