A dry fire extinguishing composition has 5-10% ammonium sulphate, 5-10% monoammonium ortho-phosphate, 1-5% potassium chloride and the remainder potassium bicarbonate with or without flow-promoting additives. A preferred example has 8% each of first two chemicals, 4% of third, 72% potassium bicarbonate, 4% talc, 2% tricalcium phosphate and 2% insoluble metal stearate. |
