PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-reusing type grinding fluid which has an excellent grinding performance, does not contain nitrogen compound, and does not pollute environments. SOLUTION: This non-reusing type grinding fluid characterized by containing 1 to 50 pts.wt. of (A) a carboxylic acid alkali metal salt and 1 to 40 pts.wt. of a nonionic surfactant, when the total amount of the grinding fluid is 100 pts.wt.. The component (A) includes potassium oleate and potassium hexadecanedionate, and the component (B) may be an ester-based nonionic surfactant and/or an ether-based nonionic surfactant having a HLB of 4 to 14. The COD of a treated liquid obtained by subjecting the 0.5 wt.% aqueous solution of the grinding fluid to a coagulation treatment is small, and the grinding fluid exhibits an excellent grinding performance and further does not contain a nitrogen compound. Therefore, the grinding fluid does not need the worry of environmental pollution, even when the grinding fluid is discarded. The grinding fluid can suitably be used for the grinding processing of aluminum magnetic disks. |
