PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for classifying makeup color images which is capable of comprehensively capturing the color images of makeup and effectively performing direction by the makeup in accordance therewith and a makeup color image map. SOLUTION: The makeup color images are classified by taking color image indices which indicate a warm feel, cold feel, etc., and color image indices which indicate jauntiness, heaviness, etc., at two coordinate axes. The makeup is directed by using the makeup color image map formed by displaying, in words, the representative color images existing in the respective quadrants at the respective quadrants segmented by the coordinate axes.
