PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tool exchanger capable of automatically attaching/detaching the tool to/from a rotating tool mounted on a robot. SOLUTION: This automatic tool exchanger automatically conducts operation such as attaching/detaching of the tool to/from the rotating tool 2 mounted on the robot 30, has a new tool station for placing a new tool 8, a tool tightening/loosening device having a mandrel 16 for fixing a spindle which stops rotation of a fixing part 4 for the spindle of the rotating tool 2, a tightening/loosening mandrel 20 for tightening or loosening the tool and a rotary drive motor 24, and a used tool station equipped with an air chuck 28 with two claws for picking up the tool 8.
