PURPOSE: An electronic commerce site operation method in which seller pays return delivery cost is provided to remove buyer's inconvenience due to payment of a return delivery cost by performing an automatic settlement of the return delivery cost with a pre-registered credit card. CONSTITUTION: A seller(22) registers a credit card which settles a return delivery cost. An electronic commerce site(21) requests approval to a credit card company(25) with the registered credit card number in the case of a buyer's return request. The credit card company(25) inquires a credit limit of the registered credit card, and notifies the site(21) of the approval result if the return delivery cost is within the credit limit. The site(21) transmits the return information to the seller(22) and asks a delivery enterprise(24) for return delivery.
