PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device provided with a retractor for the seat belt with an energy absorption mechanism capable of reducing a size of the seat belt device and improving safety of an occupant by improving energy absorption performance without sacrificing reduction of a size of the retractor. SOLUTION: A hollow pipe 40 having one end integrally joined with a bobbin 3 together with a rolling shaft 5 and other end relatively rotating with the rolling shaft 5 is covered by the rolling shaft 5, and energy is absorbed in relatively rotating the hollow pipe 40 and the rolling shaft 5.
