PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder coating composition excellent in low-temperature curability and excellent in the appearance of a coating film therefrom even if the viscosity when it is melted is high. SOLUTION: This powder coating composition essentially contains aβ- hydroxyalkylamide curing agent of the formula (wherein R1 is H, methyl or ethyl; R2 is H, a 1-5C alkyl or group HOCH(R1)CH2; and A is a bivalent hydrocarbon group) and a carboxyl-containing polyester resin having a resin solid acid value of 10-100 and a softening point of 80-150 deg.C; wherein the volume- average size of the particles is 5-30μm and the equivalent ratio of the hydroxyl group in the curing agent to the carboxyl group in the above polyester resin is 0.4-1.3.
