摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A self cleaning optical flow cell is provided to permit sonic coupling with internal regions of the cell most needed to be particulate free, while avoiding cavitation which cause etching or other damage to finely polished optical surfaces. CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric transducer(16) is maintained in mechanical contact with a flow cell(17) by a direct contact plate(18) to which the piezoelectric transducer is bonded, an electrically conductive spring(19) compressed against the transducer by a washer element(20) which distributes pressure evenly as imparted from a spring washer(21), and a threaded retainer(22) which holds assembly within a housing module. An assembly housing(23) is mechanically attached to a read head(24), holding the flow cell, by a bolt element(25). Power is supplied to the transducer via a power connector element(26). Thus, a firm mechanical contact with the flow cell of the contact plate is obtained, to which the piezoelectric transducer is attached. The mechanical contact is achieved by a pressure element imparted to piezoelectric transducer/contact plate via compression of the spring washer and conductive spring by the compression occurring as the threaded retainer is threaded into the assembly housing. The housing includes a stopping element whereby a limiting compression is set.</p>
