PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the controller of a tea leaf drier, which highly accurately controls the temperature of tea leaves during the drying to stably give the dry tea leaves having a high quality. SOLUTION: This controller of the tea leaf drier for continuously carrying charged tea leaves with air-permeable conveyers disposed in multiple stages and simultaneously drying the tea leaves with hot air supplied from a hot air generator is characterized by disposing a pair of sensors at prescribed positions at the drying final stage of the conveyers, controlling the hot air generator with the detection signals of the sensors, and maintaining the temperature of the tea leaves at the drying final stage at a prescribed temperature for a prescribed time. The sensors comprise a pair of tea temperature sensors or a tea leaf sensor and a tea leaf presence or absence sensor.
