PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing high-definition moving pictures is provided to make moving pictures transmitted from a supplier server to a user PC in a real-time method or a downloading method so that the user can appreciate high-definition moving pictures of a DVD level. CONSTITUTION: A supplier server(10) is provided with a data server(11) and a web server(12). The data server(11), in which various moving picture data encoded in an MPEG-2,4 compression method and a software decoder to play back these data are stored, enables a user to easily find out a desired moving picture index. The web server(12) has a system for the selling, settlement and delivery of manufactured goods. After downloading the software decoder from the data server(11), the user has to install it in his PC(20) in order to appreciate the moving picture data supplied in a real-time method or a downloading method. |
