TURBO DECODING METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A turbo decoding method and an apparatus therefor are provided to decode a multi-channel using one decoder by decreasing a decoding iteration number without the degradation of a decoding performance. CONSTITUTION: A demodulator(10) measures a receiving signal to a noise power ratio(Eb/No) with reference to a received codeword. An Eb/No estimator(20) estimates a channel of the most excellent Eb/No using frame timing synchronous information of the demodulator(10). A decoding iteration number determination block(30) determines a turbo decoding iteration number. A turbo decoder(40) performs a turbo decoding by the determined decoding iteration number. A CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Code) check block(50) checks a CRC by a frame from the decoded data.
