DISCRETE MULTITONE PROCESSOR OF ASYMMETRIC DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER LINE MODEM

PURPOSE: A discrete multitone processor of an asymmetric digital subscriber line modem is provided to reduce the size of an ADSL modem by designing a DMT processor as exclusive DMT function and reduce unit cost of the modem by using a low-priced and low-speed DSP. CONSTITUTION: A frame synchronizing signal generating part(200) generates a transmitting frame synchronizing signal and a receiving frame synchronizing signal in response to a periodical prefix included in transmitting data or receiving data, and a receiving synchronous shift signal. A transmitting part(220) performs discrete multitone modulation and gain control of transmitting data input through the first input terminal in response to the transmitting frame synchronous signal, and outputs the modulated and gain-controlled result through the first output terminal. A receiving part(240) performs gain control and discrete multitone demodulation of receiving data applied through the second input terminal, and outputs the demodulated and gain-controlled result through the second output terminal.
