SENSOR PROBE ASSEMBLY AND MONITORING OF CONDITION OF FLUID IN VESSEL

PURPOSE: A sensor probe assembly and monitoring of condition of fluid in vessel is provided to obtain a probe for relatively low voltage, low current electro-impedance monitoring of fluid condition in which fractional Hertzian probe excitation is utilized for measuring probe current. CONSTITUTION: A sensor probe assembly(10) comprises a base structure(12) for mounting as a closure in the opening in the vessel and including an element operable for effecting a seal about the opening; a support structure(18) extending from the base structure for immersion in the fluid in the vessel; and a pair of spaced generally parallel conductors disposed in a spiral arrangement on the support structure and including a lead element extending through the base structure for electrical connection to the conductors externally of the vessel, wherein each of the pair of conductors is electrically connected to one of the lead element.
