PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably protect a heat exchange type ventilator and to efficiently operate the ventilator by providing a temperature sensor for detecting the atmospheric temperature in the ventilator, and controlling an operation or stop of a dehumidifying mechanism according to a detection signal of the sensor. SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 50, a humidity sensor 52, a dehumidifying mechanism 42, an alarm buzzer 59 or the like are electrically connected to a controller 60 of a heat exchange type ventilator 10. If a drain level is a prescribed level or below, an atmospheric temperature is detected by the sensor 50, while if the drain level if the prescribed level or higher, an outdoor air inlet fan 26, an indoor air exhaust fan 25, and preferably further the mechanism 42 are stopped, and the buzzer 59 is actuated. Whether the atmospheric temperature falls within a prescribed temperature range to operate the mechanism is decided. If the decision is 'NO', the mechanism 42 is stopped, while if the decision is 'YES', the atmospheric humidity is detected. If the decision is 'YES', the mechanism 42 is made to continue its operation. |
