SUBSTANCE: induction period of fuel oxidation is determined from time interval lasting from the beginning of aging of fuel sample in sealed container with specified liquid and gas phase ratio up to a sharp drop of information parameter of gas medium in container. Gas medium is air at atmospheric pressure, whose volume Va occupies 40-50% of the volume of container. Sample of each fuel is tested at least twice, the first test being performed at the same temperature for all fuels (170+/-0.5 C). Current values of information parameter - concentration of air in gas phase of container - are measured until linearity of kinetic dependence is no longer observed. Temperature of the second test is specified in dependence on initial point of linear section of kinetic dependence of the first test. When the two tests are performed, one determines time intervals during which specified conditional amount of oxygen exceeding initial amount of oxygen in container would be consumed. Induction period of fuel oxidation at 100 C is calculated from corresponding dependencies.
