PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically advantageous positioning rail capable of preventing the breakage of a warp at a thickened part or a knot part and provide a loading apparatus suitable for the positioning rail. SOLUTION: The positioning rail 10 of a knitting machine 1 provided with a continuous shed has plural notches 10a placed with gaps to guide the warp 3. Each notch 10a has two end parts 10b, 10d and a guide part 10c between the end parts. The width of the notch 10a is wider at both end parts 10b, 10d than at the guide part 10c.
