PURPOSE: A non-inversion type LCD device is provided to improve luminance by using a reflective polarization plate and a rear polarization plate. CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode(4) and an orientation layer(6) are formed on an upper substrate(2). A liquid crystal material is implanted between the upper substrate(2) and a lower substrate(2'). A front polarization plate(3) is adhered to an outer face of the upper substrate(2). A reflective polarization plate(12) is formed on a back face of the lower substrate(2'). A rear polarization plate(3) is adhered to a back face of the lower substrate(2). A rear polarization plate(3) is adhered to a back face of the reflective polarization plate(12). A backlight(8) is installed on a back face of the rear polarization plate(3). A polarization axis of the front polarization plate(3) is perpendicular to a polarization axis of the rear polarization plate(3'). A reflective axis of the reflective polarization plate(12) is perpendicular to a transmission axis of the reflective polarization plate(12). The reflective axis of the reflective polarization plate(12) corresponds to the polarization axis of the rear polarization plate(3).
