PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital video reproducing method, a digital video reproducing device and a digital video recording and reproducing device by which a viewer can start a video reproduction while simply and accurately selecting his (her) desired scene through scene jumping. SOLUTION: The digital video reproducing method, the digital video reproducing device and the digital video recording and reproducing device display a time bar 100 corresponding to a time base of video contents on a screen. Furthermore, icons 104, 105, 106 and 107 denoting start positions of event scenes being characteristic scenes in a moving picture are displayed on the time bar 100. When a viewer operates a remote commander to move a round mark 103 onto any of the icons 104, 105, 106 and 107 and to select any of them, the viewer can start reproduction of a video image from a start position of a selected event scene corresponding to the selected icon. |
