PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that magnetic flux in a joining part of an upper part core layer and an upper part magnetic pole layer can not be sufficiently concentrated in a conventional thin film magnetic head. SOLUTION: In the joining part A of the upper part magnetic pole layer 13 and the upper part core layer 15, the magnetic flux conducted. by the upper part core layer 15 can be concentrated by an inner end 15c of the upper part core layer 15 positioned deeper than an inner end 13c of the upper part magnetic pole layer 13 in a height direction and the upper part magnetic pole layer 13 can be surely magnetically saturated by the magnetic flux.
