PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate trouble caused when a stimulable phosphor sheet and a solid image detector are integrated that the integrated body is easily cracked or becomes heavier and the cost of a cassette rises in an image information reading device for reading image information by using the stimulable phosphor sheet and the solid image detector. SOLUTION: A light transmissive glass base 8 on which a sheet 10 is placed is disposed at a reading position in the center part of the device, a pressing means 60 is provided above the glass base 8, and a solid image detector 20 is attached to the glass base 8 side of a pressing plate 63. A stimulating light scanning means 90 is disposed at the lower part of the glass base 8. When a cassette 100 housing the sheet 10 having a stimulable phosphor layer 12 is attached to an aperture part 3, the sheet 10 is pulled out from the cassette 100 and carried to a reading position by a sheet feeding and ejecting means 70 consisting of a feeding and ejecting roller 71 and a carrying belt 73, and is restored to the cassette 100 after finishing the reading. Since the sheet and the detector are separated, they do not cause the trouble that they are cracked or becomes heavier if they are integrated.
