PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber communication system that can also compensate dispersion of an optical fiber whose length is other than a prescribed length by having only to prepare dispersion compensation fibers with a plurality of kinds of compensation amounts in advance. SOLUTION: A 1st compensation module 43 in pairs with an optical fiber 41 that has a partial compensation value whose ratio with respect to the prescribed compensation amount is closest to a ratio of a length L1 with respect to a prescribed length is selected among partial compensation modules having optional partial compensation amounts that are less than the prescribed compensation amount to compensate the dispersion in the optical fiber with the prescribed length, and a 2nd compensation module 44 at a post-stage of a set 31 of the optical fiber 41 with the length of L1 is selected from each partial compensation module so as to compensate the compensation amount being a difference between the dispersion of the optical signal by the optical fiber 41 with the length L1 and the selected partial compensation amount. |
