PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a priority order processing method for a data communication switch, such as a LAN switch for supporting a source learning bridge. SOLUTION: In this priority processing for the data communication switch, such as the LAN switch for supporting the source learning bridge, priority value to be applied to a packet with an outbound tag is decided, based on plural other values such as the priority of an inbound tag, the VLAN of the inbound tag and the identifier of a reception port. The plural other values are solved with respect to a virtual trunk identifier first, and the virtual trunk identifier is applied with the priority of the inbound tag to decide the priority order of the outbound tag. The plural other values are returned to a smaller bit value, which is used in table lookup to solve the virtual trunk identifier.
