<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forward-backward adjustable pedal device for a vehicle which is constituted simple and compactly and has small play in pedal stepping operation. SOLUTION: A brake pedal device 10 is composed principally of a link mechanism 26 consisting of four links 30, 32, 34, and 36 coupled so as to form a rectangle having a support shaft 16 as its upper coupling point, and a step part 20 is moved in the front-rear direction of the vehicle by deforming the rectangle by making the intermediate parts of the link mechanism 26 come closer to and leave each other by a front-rear adjusting means 28 arranged over the first link 30 and fourth link 36. The reference position of the fourth link 36 and the front-rear adjustment range the step part 20 by the front-rear adjusting means 28 are so set that the step part 20 is at the lowest position on the rear- side movement end where the part 20 is the closest to a driver's seat and increases on height as it moves from the rear-side movement end to the front- side movement end, as shown by the dashed line.</p> |
