PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive rotary kiln capable of controlling retention times at a low temperature range and a high temperature range independently. SOLUTION: The rotary kiln comprises two zones having different inner diameters. The inner diameter at a product discharge side is larger than that at a raw material charge side. A dam ring is provided at the end of the product discharge side.
