PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape steel member easy to connect and a steel truss structure using it in the roof frame of a building. SOLUTION: This shape steel member has a nearly U-shaped cross section formed with webs on short sides and a flange on a long side, and the back slope size of the web is nearly equal to the short side size of the cross sectional shape of a house wooden material. The top chords and the lower chord of a truss are made of the shape steel members with their opening sides faced downward and upward, respectively. The flanges of the shape steel members forming the top and lower chords are overlapped and connected to form the apex or the end sections of the steel truss. Part of the house wooden material may be inserted between the flanges of both shape steel members to be connected to connect the house wooden material at an insertion section to the flanges in the connection sections of the top and lower chords, or the house wooden material may be used as the diagonal member or the strut of the steel truss.
