PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint device for floor capable of covering a joint part while there is no difference in steps and absorbing the swing and movement of buildings on the right and left even if the buildings swing and move in different forward and backward directions and different right and left directions due to an earthquake to prevent their damages. SOLUTION: This joint device for floor consists of recessed parts on the right and left opened in joint parts formed on floor surfaces on joint part sides of the buildings on the right and left, a movable and slidable joint plate whose both end parts are positioned in substantially central parts of the recessed parts on the right and left, a central maintenance mechanism positioning a central part of the movable joint plate in a central part of the joint part at all times, cover plates on the right and left whose tip parts attached so as to cover the recessed parts on the right and left are supported on the movable joint plate, a central cover plate supported on the movable joint plate so as to move vertically so that its upper face becomes substantially flush with upper faces of the cover plates on the right and left covering a clearance between the cover plates on the right and left, and a central cover plate pushing-up mechanism raising the central cover plate automatically by pushing pressures of the cover plates on the right and left when the joint part is narrowed due to an earthquake.
