PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the shearing strength of a steel column base to a column base foundation without impairing reinforcing bars on the column base foundation side. SOLUTION: When the steel column base 11 is built in and fixed to the reinforced concrete column base foundation 14, a base plate 12 to fix the steel column base 11 to the column base foundation 14 is fixed to a lower side 11a of the steel column base 11, a plurality of stud bolts 13 to increase the shearing strength of the steel column base 11 to the column base foundation 14 are fixed to a lower side 12a of the base plate 12, a notch 15a or a recess to accommodate the stud bolts 13 is provided in the column base foundation 14, the steel column base 11 is built in the column base foundation 14 and the steel column base 11 is fixed to the column base foundation 14 by anchor bolts 16 of the column base foundation 14 and nuts 18 screwed therein, and a mortar or a grout is filled in the notch 15a or the recess to increase the shearing strength of the steel column base 11 to the column base foundation 14.
