PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial-treated paper having an extremely high safety, capable of maintaining excellent antibacterial and antifungal activities for a long period and capable of widely enhancing the antimicrobial activity of the antimicrobial-treated paper used in all of the fields such as in processed foods, clothes, medical materials, etc. SOLUTION: This antimicrobial-treated paper is obtained by applying an aqueous solution of 5-10% antimicrobial agent P containing a hot water- extracted essence of a cereal, an alkyldimethylbenzalkonium chloride, lauryliminodipropionic acid and a polyoxypropylene glycol together with an acrylic binder on the surface of a paper material. Also, the antimicrobial agent P is applied on the surface of a coated cardboard paper or a chip cardboard paper.
