PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure recording quality on a continuous magnetic medium having cope forming coercive force (Hn) higher than domain wall displacement coercive force (Hw). SOLUTION: A magnetic recording device provided with a nearly continuous film structured magnetic film medium having the core forming coercive force (Hn) higher than the domain wall displacement coercive force (Hw) and a magnetic recording head for recording on the medium by applying a recording magnetic field equal to or higher than Hn is characterized in that a recording magnetic field in a magnetization transition part just before the currently recording magnetization transition part is adjusted so as to be lower than Hw or the recording magnetic field on a track adjacent to a currently recording track is adjusted so as to be lower than Hw.
