Aminoalkoxy- or (N-containing heterocyclyl)-alkoxy-substituted benzo (h) (1,6) naphthyridine, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-benzo (h) (1,6) naphthyridine or 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-azepino (3,2-c)-quinoline derivatives (I) are new. Tricyclic quinoline derivatives of formula (I) and their salts, including isomers and isomer mixtures, are new. n = 0 or 1; R, R' = H or halo; R1 = H or Ph'; Ph' = phenyl (optionally substituted by halo, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy); R2 = NR3R4 or a heterocyclic group of formula (a); R3, R4 = H or 1-4C alkyl; p, q = 0-2, but not both 0; R5 = H, 1-8C alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, Ph' or CH2Ph'; X-Y = -N=CH-C(R'')=CH-, -NH(CH2)3- or -NH(CH)2)4; R'' = H or halo.
