PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decrease in the contrast of an image due to the influence of reflected light. SOLUTION: V-shape grooves 4 are formed between insertion holes 2 adjacent to each other on the face of a polarizing plate 1 where a plurality of insertion holes 2 where display elements are to be inserted are arranged in a matrix. Since the light and external diffused light by the display device propagating to the arrangement face of the polarizing plate 1 are diffused by the V-shape grooves 4 to the outside of the viewing angle range of the observer watching the screen, the quantity of the reflected light concentrated to the forward direction of the screen is decreased. Hence decrease in the contrast of an image due to the influence of the reflected light can be prevented.
