ACCIDENT POINT LOCATING METHOD OF CABLE LINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accident point locating method of a cable line capable of locating an accident point of the cable line with high accuracy by dividing the accident point into a main line and a branch line. SOLUTION: This accident point locating method for locating the accident point on the basis of a waveform of a reflected pulse by injecting a pulse from a cable terminal part 5 of the main line 2 of the cable line 1 stopped from carrying current after the occurrence of an accident, calculates a distance up to the accident point 12 from the terminal part 5 on the basis of a waveform of the accident point appearing in a difference waveform between the waveform of the reflected pulse in an accident occurring phase of the cable line 1 and a waveform in a sound phase of the cable line 1. Next, the reflected pulse supposed when the accident point 12 exists in a corresponding position of the calculated distance in the main line 2 and the branch line 3 is compared with the difference waveform to judge the accident of the main line and the branch line from a position of the pulse of the difference waveform corresponding to the supposed reflected pulse.
