PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superstructure turning type construction machine that solves such a problem that the type of car body increases and easily repairs a part that is damaged during use. SOLUTION: A swivel joint for connecting the hydraulic source of superstructure turning body that can turn to a lower part running body, and a hydraulic device including the running motor of the lower portion running body becomes a turning center when turning the superstructure turning body. A swivel guard 1 is mounted to a car body lower plate 2 that is provided at the lower portion running body, and the swivel guard 1 is provided with a long hole 8 that is provided at a peripheral edge part and a step part 10 that is provided at the side of the car body lower plate 2 from the long hole 8. A plate 3 with tap holes is arranged at the upper side of the long hole 8 of the swivel guard 1, and the tip of a bolt 4 is screwed into the plate 3 with tap holes through the long hole 8 from the lower side of the long hole 8 of the swivel guard 1, thus fixing the swivel guard 1. The edge part of the plate 3 with tap holes is retracted from an area on the car body lower plate 2, to disconnect the swivel guard 1.
