PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high chromaticity detection accuracy by detecting accurate color information in a display color evaluation method of a display screen, to provide a display device having high color quality by preventing oversight of local irregular colors at the inspection, and to enable total or sampling inspection in a quantity production line by shortening an inspection time greatly. SOLUTION: In this display color evaluation method for the display screen, the display screen of a color display means is allowed to emit light, and the light-emitting display screen is imaged, and spectral distributions on plural spots in the imaged display screen are measured, color information of the display screen is provided, based on data obtained by imaging and data obtained from the measured spectral distributions, and a display color is evaluated by using the color information.
