PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ferritic stainless steel improved in ridging resistance and corrosion resistance, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: This ferritic stainless steel excellent in surface properties and corrosion resistance has a composition containing, by mass, <=0.1% C, 0.01 to 1% Si, 0.01 to 1% Mn, <=0.04% P, <=0.01% S, 10 to 25% Cr, 0.001 to 0.2% Al, 0.0002 to 0.05% N, <=0.01% O, <=0.006% Mg and <=0.0005% Ca and also satisfying Mg+10Ca<=0.006%, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
