The pallet system for transporting cylindrical objects (12) comprises a pallet (32) and a support sheet (36) made from corrugated cardboard. Collars (38) are stuck to this and fit around the bases of the objects. A lid (34) is fitted on to the objects which has two horizontal walls (48, 50), with apertures (52) in the lower wall into which the tops of the objects fit.
