PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a running control device constituted so as to detect a load on an engine and automatically shift a continuously variable transmission in accordance with the value of the load is useful, but sometimes inconvenient for some uses of a vehicle if such control is always performed. SOLUTION: This running control device, provided in a vehicle having an oil hydraulic pump 11 connected to be associated with an engine and an oil hydraulic motor 21 driven by receiving pressure oil from this oil hydraulic pump 11, is constituted so as to have two control modes. A first mode is the one fixing a motor swash plate 23 by changing an angle of a swash plate 13 of the above pump in accordance with a speed change pedal 27. A second mode is the one changing the angle of the above pump swash plate 13 in accordance with the speed change pedal 27 to control an angle of the motor swash plate 23 in accordance with a load of the engine. The first and second modes are constituted so as to be freely switched by a lever 36. |
