摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply capable of charging an electric double layer capacitor which is used together with a battery having a exceeding breakdown voltage, with a simple means and method. SOLUTION: When a microcomputer 30 detects that a terminal voltage Vc of an electric double layer capacitor 20 is lower than a first specified threshold V1 through a voltage detector 41, the microcomputer detects a battery with the highest terminal voltage via voltage detectors 42 to 45, and selects from the combinations of the battery and other batteries in series connection, a combination that maximizes its charging voltage Vcharge to the extent that the breakdown voltage Vmax does not exceed under the condition that the number of batteries be minimized and a battery higher than the terminal voltage be included. Then the microcomputer changes the status of a first switch group 11 of switches so that the batteries in the selected combination are connected in series, and changes the status of a third switch group 15 of switches so that the series-connected batteries and the electric double layer capacitor 20 are connected in parallel before charging the electric double layer capacitor 20.</p>
